Phil Collins, the legendary Genesis drummer and frontman, has shared an honest update on his health, revealing that years of illness have made it increasingly difficult for him to play music. The 73-year-old admitted that while he has thought about returning to the studio, his health has held him back.
“I keep thinking I should go downstairs to the studio and see what happens,” Collins confessed. “But I’m not hungry for it anymore. The thing is, I’ve been sick. I mean, very sick.”
Collins, who has faced significant physical challenges, particularly with drumming, further explained, “If I can’t do what I did as well as I did it, I’d rather relax and not do anything.” Reflecting on his career, he added, “If I wake up one day and I can hold a pair of drumsticks, then I’ll have a crack at it. But I just feel like I’ve used up my air miles.”
