After a 12-year hiatus, Fountains of Wayne is reuniting for a special performance at Milwaukee’s Summerfest on July 4. This marks the band’s first public show since their last live performance in 2011.

The reunion comes five years after the tragic death of founding member Adam Schlesinger, who passed away from COVID-19 complications on April 1, 2020, at the age of 52. Despite his loss, the remaining members — singer Chris Collingwood, guitarist Jody Porter, and drummer Brian Young — will join Max Collins of Eve6 to fill Schlesinger’s role for the one-time performance.

While this will be the band’s only scheduled live appearance, Fountains of Wayne did reunite virtually for a New Jersey pandemic relief fundraiser. However, the Summerfest gig will be their first in front of a live audience in over a decade.
