Boston-based Irish singer-songwriter Bob Bradshaw has unveiled the video for his latest single, “Albuquerque.” Co-written with Scoop McGuire, the song features a rich, melodic bass-line courtesy of John Sheeran, paired with James Rohr’s delicate keyboard work and Andy Santospago’s emotive pedal steel guitar. Bradshaw’s smooth, country-tinged voice effortlessly flows over the track’s memorable melody, evoking a timeless, familiar feeling.
In describing the inspiration behind “Albuquerque,” Bradshaw shares, “The song draws from the great place-name classics written by Jimmy Webb and recorded by Glen Campbell, such as ‘By The Time I Get To Phoenix,’ ‘Wichita Lineman,’ and ‘Galveston.’ It’s about a man who, driving south from Albuquerque to escape a woman, finds himself compelled to turn back at the Mexican border due to the powerful hold she has on him.”
The song’s rich composition is mirrored in the accompanying video, which focuses on the seamless collaboration of the musicians. “Albuquerque” will be featured on Bradshaw’s upcoming album, Bob Bradshaw Live in Boston, set for release on March 28, 2025. The album captures the essence of Bradshaw’s live performances, making it a must-listen for fans of classic country music.
