J. Cole made a surprise return to music with the release of his new single, cLOUDs, after nearly a year away from the spotlight.
The American rapper, who has been open about the struggles of balancing his personal and professional life, shared the track with fans through a blog post. In the post, Cole revealed that he had no title for the song until just 20 minutes before releasing it. “Just wanted to share. Made this a few days ago, then I added a second verse and was like, ‘Man, I got a blog now, I can put whatever I want up there,'” he wrote.
Produced by DZL, Omen, and with “small contributions” from Cole himself, cLOUDs marks the artist’s long-awaited return to the music scene.
