Progressive metal band Nospūn is preparing to release Ozai, a re-recorded version of their early music, on March 28, 2025. This EP marks a return to their roots, revisiting songs from a decade ago when the band was first forming. Ozai will feature five tracks, re-recorded, remixed, and remastered to reflect the band’s evolution over the years.
The band described the Ozai EP as their first significant project as a four-member group, noting that it was a period of musical experimentation. They intentionally veered away from traditional progressive metal in favor of a more modern sound. The new version of Ozai is designed to align sonically with their 2023 album Opus, offering a seamless listening experience from one to the other.
With a heavier, more intense edge, the EP showcases a collection of songs that stand independently, emphasizing a raw and aggressive sound. To further celebrate the upcoming release, Nospūn has also dropped a lyric video for their track “The Effervescent Power.”
