Minot-based musician Chloe Raye has unveiled her latest country music single, “Blame It On Where I Grew Up,” which hit the airwaves last month and quickly gained traction on radio stations nationwide and globally.
Raye explained that the song reflects the essence of her upbringing in North Dakota, capturing the sights and sounds of the Midwest. With lyrics about wheat fields, gravel roads, and the expansive Midwestern sky, the track explores the experiences that shaped her identity.
The song, a collaboration with two national songwriters, has been in the works for about three years. Raye shared her gratitude for being able to pursue her musical dreams in her hometown of Minot, defying the common belief that success requires leaving home.
“It’s a blessing to do what I love in North Dakota,” she said. “I never imagined I’d be able to make it as a singer starting out here.”
Raye’s music is available on major streaming platforms, and she’s gearing up for her next North Dakota performance on February 28 at Arthur’s Barn in Cass County. She’ll also take the stage at Bottineau Winter Park on March 15, with additional performances lined up, including a country music festival in Minnesota later this summer.
