Lizzo is back with a bold new single, “Love in Real Life,” marking the beginning of a new musical chapter. Released on Friday, the song and its cinematic video offer fans a glimpse into the pop star’s evolving sound and vision. The single follows a week of hints from Lizzo, including a Twitch stream where she teased, “Time to put some gas in 2025.”
The video opens with Lizzo standing alone in a dimly lit corridor, gazing into a mirror before transitioning to a lively scene where she’s dressed in a leather jacket, singing, “Tonight, I might make an appearance since I look this fine, and plus, it’s been a while.” However, things take a surreal turn when the club she’s in becomes a nightmare, with partygoers morphing into zombie-like figures. As chaos erupts, Lizzo runs and eventually joins the dancing horde, declaring, “By the end of the world, by the end of the night / Baby, come over here, I need love in real life.”
