Ryan Tedder Signs Global Deal After Co-Founding Runner Music with OneRepublic

Ryan Tedder has taken a significant step in his career by signing a global deal with Runner Music, a move that is rare in the music industry. Tedder, a top-tier songwriter, has partnered with his own publishing company—a milestone achieved by only a few in the industry.

Tedder expressed his excitement about the deal, stating, “Signing to Runner feels like the culmination of a dream I’ve had for years—both in music and in finding the right team to bring it all to life.” He went on to praise the company’s leadership, mentioning Amanda Hill, Andrew Sparkler, and the team they’ve built, who share his passion and vision for music. “I’m amazed by what Runner has achieved in such a short time and can’t wait for what’s next,” Tedder added.

Reflecting on his early career, Tedder noted, “My first job in the music industry at 19 was working for a publishing company in Nashville. I never imagined I’d be signing with my own one day.”

Tedder’s recent success includes multiple chart-topping hits, including collaborations with Tate McRae on tracks like “Greedy,” “Exes,” “It’s Ok, I’m Ok,” and “Sports Car.” He also co-wrote the Grammy-winning collaboration “II Most Wanted” with Beyoncé and Miley Cyrus. In addition, Tedder worked with David Guetta on “I Don’t Wanna Wait,” featuring OneRepublic, and contributed to “Run It,” a hit song from the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 soundtrack with Guetta and Jelly Roll.

Meanwhile, Runner Music continues to make waves in the industry. This year, the company celebrated its success with the global hit “DtMF” by Bad Bunny, co-written by Tyler Spry. The track reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and dominated several global charts, including the Billboard Global 200 and Spotify’s Global Top 50. It also continues to perform strongly on Rhythmic Radio.

Runner Music’s roster is growing, with notable additions like Del Water Gap, country artist Ben Johnson (currently enjoying a No. 1 hit with Jelly Roll), and up-and-coming producer and songwriter Alex O’Shaughnessy. Additionally, Grant Boutin of Runner co-wrote and co-produced “Sports Car” with Tate McRae, further cementing the company’s place in the publishing world.

Amanda Hill, Co-Chief Creative Officer of Runner, expressed pride in the company’s achievements, saying, “Ryan joining our roster strengthens our position as the leading destination for songwriters. It’s a joy to continue working with one of my favorite songwriters.”

CEO Andrew Sparkler also shared his enthusiasm, commenting, “The momentum at Runner is exceptional. We’re not only collaborating with Ryan to support emerging songwriters, but we’re also thrilled to work with established hit-makers. Ryan’s signing is a powerful testament to our growth and success.”
