Several K-pop idols are showcasing their talents as solo artists, releasing new music that highlights their individual styles.
Yuqi, a member of the girl group (G)I-DLE, will drop her digital single Radio (Dum-Dum) on Monday at 6 p.m. The medium-tempo track, which compares a broken heart to a record, was first introduced during the group’s third world tour, i-DOL, from August to November last year. The song had already been featured in an advertisement before its official release.
Yuqi expressed her gratitude in a press release on Monday, saying, “I’m so grateful for the love that ‘Radio (Dum-Dum)’ received even without an official track.” She added, “I apologize for keeping [fan club] Neverland waiting for so long. We hope you know that we’re trying our hardest. You can now listen to the song with an official track, and I really hope you enjoy it.”
Mark of the boy band NCT will release his first solo album, The Firstfruit, on April 7, along with a live showcase at 8 p.m. The album features 13 tracks, including the lead single 1999, which reflects Mark’s experiences in Toronto, New York, Vancouver, and Seoul.
Before the full album’s release, a track titled +82 Pressin will debut on Wednesday, featuring Mark’s NCT bandmate Haechan. The album showcase will be livestreamed on YouTube, Weverse, and TikTok. A listening party will also be held at 4 p.m. on April 7.
Solar of Mamamoo will release her second solo single, Want, on April 2. This marks her first new solo track in six months. Her agency, RBW, shared that Want represents “the courage and excitement of running toward a loved one” and will be released just as the spring season begins. Last year, Solar completed her first solo tour, Colors, in Asia and starred as Mata Hari in the local musical Mata Hari.
Seoho of Oneus will release his debut solo single, Hatchling, on March 23. The song was first performed during the band’s concert in February, at the final show of their second tour, La Dolce Vita.
According to his agency, RBW, Seoho recorded the track before beginning his military service. “It carries Seoho’s warm heart,” the agency added. Seoho, who is the oldest member of Oneus, began his military service on February 17 and is scheduled to be discharged on August 16, 2026.
