Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan Settle Differences with a Rap Battle at IIFA

by Patria

The IIFA stage this year not only provided top-notch entertainment but also served as a platform for mending old rifts and forging new partnerships.

Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar and actor Kartik Aaryan, who were previously involved in a public fallout, shared a lighthearted moment as they participated in a friendly rap battle. The two playfully teased each other, signaling that their past differences were now behind them. Known for his playful roasting style, KJo didn’t hold back during the performance.

A promo from the IIFA awards, held in Jaipur, showed the duo facing off in a rap battle. While the beat and lyrical flow left much to be desired, the content itself made an impact. Both KJo and Kartik poked fun at each other’s box office flops—films that, despite ambitious efforts, failed to make a mark.

KJo’s Kalank remains a stain in his filmography, while Kartik’s Shehzada, a remake of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, also underperformed, preventing him from securing his place as Bollywood’s next big star. Though the rap battle grew intense at times, it ended on a lighter note, shifting focus to their upcoming project, Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri.

Announced in December last year, this film marks the first collaboration between Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan since their highly publicized fallout over Dostana 2. The rift had dominated industry discussions, but time and professionalism have brought the two back together. Now, with their differences behind them, they are ready to work together and create something special.
