Seoul is set to become a cultural hub this spring with two major festivals offering diverse musical experiences. The Seoul Spring Festival of Chamber Music (SSF) and the Seoul Spring Festa will welcome both local and international audiences, celebrating classical music and K-pop culture, respectively.
SSF Marks 20 Years of Classical Music
The SSF will run from April 22 to May 4, 2025, celebrating its 20th anniversary with the theme “20 Candles.” The festival will take place at prominent venues, including the Seoul Arts Center and Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, with performances showcasing the beauty of classical music.
Under the leadership of violinist Kang Dong-suk, the festival will open on April 22 with “Concertante,” featuring works by composers such as Mozart, Vaughan-Williams, Schumann, and Dvorak. Several performances will highlight the number 20, including a recital on April 23 with 20 performers, another on April 27 featuring Opus 20 compositions, and one on May 3 performed by artists aged 20. The event will close on May 4 with the “Dawn of a New Decade” concert.
Kang Dong-suk, who has led the SSF since 2006, is a celebrated violinist with a rich career that includes collaborations with world-class orchestras. This year’s festival will also feature renowned artists like violinist Danny Koo, flutist Mathieu Dufour, and pianist Kim Young-ho. One special performance will be the return of the French clarinet ensemble, Les Bons Becs, which has not performed at the SSF since 2010.
Ticket prices range from 20,000 won ($13.80) to 150,000 won, and tickets are available on platforms like Interpark Ticket and Yes24 Ticket.
Seoul Spring Festa and WONDER SHOW K-pop Concert
Parallel to the SSF, the Seoul Spring Festa will bring the excitement of K-pop to the city. A major highlight will be the WONDER SHOW concert, scheduled for April 30, 2025, at the Seoul World Cup Stadium. This concert will feature popular K-pop acts like NCT WISH, THE BOYZ, and n.SSign, with more artists to be announced.
Agoda is offering a special deal for fans from Japan, Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. By booking accommodations through participating hotels, fans can receive free tickets to the WONDER SHOW concert. The promotion runs from March 17 to April 11, providing a great opportunity for fans to enjoy both the concert and discounted hotel rates.
