LONDON – K-pop group Tomorrow X Together (TXT) is excited and energized as they kick off their European tour. After spending two months away from the spotlight, the members say they feel more connected and inspired.
Big Hit Music, the label behind TXT, announced in January that the group would take a “long-term break” to rest and spend time with family. This decision followed group leader Soobin’s announcement that he was stepping back for health reasons.
“It was the first time we took such a long break. It gave us time to reflect on many things,” said member Hueningkai. Speaking before their first UK performance at London’s O2 Arena on Tuesday, Hueningkai added, “I think it brought us closer together and helped us think more about ourselves as a team and as artists.” During their break, Hueningkai enjoyed a family trip to South Korea’s Jeju Island, indulged in good food, and visited Japan with friends.
Member Taehyun emphasized the importance of rest, stating, “Rest is as important as working because it always inspires me a lot.”
TXT, which debuted in March 2019, consists of Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Hueningkai. Over the past six years, they have built a strong fanbase known as “MOA” (Moments Of Alwaysness), thanks to their pop-rock sound and hit songs such as “Blue Hour,” “Sugar Rush Ride,” and “0X1=LOVESONG,” featuring South Korean singer Seori.
Their album Minisode 3: Tomorrow ranked as the 10th best-selling album of 2024 globally, according to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), which also ranked TXT seventh on its list of top global recording artists of 2023.
The European tour, which began in Barcelona on March 20, will also take the group to Berlin, Paris, and Amsterdam. TXT promises an exciting experience for their fans. “The set list is really colorful and diverse, so I think it will be a lot of fun for the fans. There are solo stages that we haven’t shown before,” Hueningkai shared.
In addition to the tour, Beomgyu is preparing for his solo debut with the mixtape Panic, which will be released on March 27. As for the group’s future music, the members are keeping details under wraps, teasing fans with the promise of more surprises to come.
