Austrian hard rock band Vulvarine is set to make waves with their new single “Equal, Not the Same,” from their upcoming album Fast Lane, releasing this Friday, March 28, 2025, via Napalm Records.
The track bursts with high-energy riffs and raw intensity, reflecting the frustration of feeling unheard and the determination to stand tall. Accompanied by an electrifying official music video, “Equal, Not the Same” offers a glimpse into an album that is bold, unapologetic, and full of energy.
Vulvarine recently completed the second leg of Thundermother’s Dirty & Divine tour across Europe, sharing the stage with Cobra Spell. Drawing inspiration from iconic bands like Girlschool, The Runaways, and The Donnas, the band blends rock’n’roll, heavy metal, glam, punk, and blues into what they call “vulvarock.”
Following their debut album Unleashed (2020) and the Witches Brew EP (2023), Fast Lane marks a new chapter for Vulvarine. The album delivers a dynamic mix of sounds, from the rebellious anthem “The Drugs, the Love and the Pain” to the more introspective “Ancient Soul.” Tracks like “Demons” and “Alright Tonight” showcase the band’s musical versatility, while “Equal, Not the Same” stands out as a particularly empowering song.
Collaborating with German producer Felix Heldt on the track “Fool,” Vulvarine surprises listeners with a fresh tone while staying true to their roots. The album also includes a cover of Modern Talking’s “Cheri Cheri Lady,” featuring Thundermother’s Filippa Nässil on guitar, as well as the reflective “She’ll Come Around.”
Produced by Thomas Zwanzger, Dietmar Baumgartner, and Engel Mayr, Fast Lane captures Vulvarine’s signature energy and authenticity, combining sharp songwriting with top-tier production. The result is a cohesive and powerful album—11 tracks of high-octane rock’n’roll with no filler.
Fast Lane will be available in several formats, including a limited-edition translucent orange vinyl and a digital album.
