Manchester-based alternative band Hot Milk is set to release their new album Corporation P.O.P on June 27th via Music For Nations. This album follows their 2023 release A Call to the Void.
Vocalist and guitarist Han Mee, who holds a degree in politics, brings her passion for global issues into Corporation P.O.P. “I’ve always felt like a bit of a white knight – it’s my duty to save the world somehow,” she explains. “I feel deeply impacted by the world’s problems. I once dreamed of becoming an MEP [Member of European Parliament].”
In addition to the album announcement, Hot Milk has unveiled a new music video for the track “Swallow This.” Speaking about the song, Mee comments, “We live in a post-truth era, where confusion and distrust dominate. We must trust our instincts and seek what is moral, right, and kind. ‘Swallow This’ is a protest song against the media’s influence. They push and provoke to control us. As we’ve always said, QUESTION EVERYTHING. It’s essential to stay grounded in a world that’s evolving too quickly for us to keep up. We must value the safety and well-being of all people, regardless of race, religion, or gender. Money and power should never replace what truly matters – community, joy, and spirit. If it comes to it, I’ll stand on that picket line first. For now, this is all we’ve got. Enjoy, f ‘em.”
