The Liechtenstein Symphony Orchestra (SOL) has announced that Dawid Runtz, a talented young Polish conductor, will become its new Chief Conductor. Runtz, 33, will officially take up the role in 2026 but will begin leading performances in 2025, including appearances at the Vaduz Classic Festival and the Wiener Konzerthaus.

Runtz has already made his mark in the classical music world, conducting renowned orchestras such as the Staatskapelle Weimar, the Prague Philharmonic, the Warsaw Philharmonic, the Slovenian Radio Symphony Orchestra, and the Hong Kong Sinfonietta.

From 2017 to 2025, Runtz served as Principal Conductor of Poland’s Royal Opera. He was also appointed Chief Conductor of the Zagreb Philharmonic in 2021, where he has been recording two albums annually for NAXOS as part of a project to promote Croatian music. In addition, Runtz recently signed with Sheldon Artists for exclusive worldwide representation.

Founded in 1988, the Liechtenstein Symphony Orchestra has worked with famous musicians such as Jonas Kaufmann, Lang Lang, and Andrea Bocelli. The orchestra has performed internationally at prestigious venues like the Tonhalle Maag in Zürich, the Berlin Philharmonie, and the Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb, with upcoming performances at the Wiener Konzerthaus in 2025 and the Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival in 2026.

Runtz expressed his excitement about the appointment, stating, “Every encounter with the musicians of the SOL is a source of true musical joy. It is an honor for me that we will now shape the future of this orchestra together.”
