6ix9ine’s New Music is Being Criticized on Social Media

Controversial rapper 6ix9ine recently released new music, but it appears to be receiving mixed reactions from fans.

This week, 6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, dropped music videos for two new songs, “HANNA” and “POPPA.” However, the reception has been less than enthusiastic. According to Hot New Hip-Hop, the tracks have drawn lukewarm to critical responses. One person even commented “No, thanks” under an Instagram post about the songs. On X (formerly Twitter), another user shared their frustration, writing, “We need the rap back, not this singing stuff.”

The music videos have also been met with a mixed response. The “POPPA” video, described as unremarkable for a rap video, has not impressed many. On the other hand, the “HANNA” video features some exciting jetski stunts, though these moments are occasionally interrupted by 6ix9ine attempting to stay relevant.

Despite the criticism, some fans have expressed praise for the videos. “Damn let’s get over that million. Too many haters reporting Tekashi,” one YouTube user commented under the “POPPA” video. “This song is so fire!!!” Another fan, under the “HANNA” video, wrote, “I liked both of them a lot. It’s a mix of fascinating colors, and its liveliness is like 2018—a return to game 69. I loved its return because it was so big.”

In other news, 6ix9ine recently shared that he briefly roomed with hip-hop mogul Diddy while in police custody in late 2024. During a Twitch live stream with DJ Akademiks, 6ix9ine revealed, “We literally like… we sleeping right next to each other, nah for real. I sleep right here, he [Diddy] slept right there.”

6ix9ine also spoke about giving Diddy advice while they were both incarcerated. “I told him like, yo bro, speak up… you see how the media is crucifying Diddy? They know they have the narrative, they got the upper hand,” he explained.

Diddy is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, facing sex trafficking charges. His trial is set to begin in May. 6ix9ine continued, saying, “I know about your situation… but you gotta give a narrative or they will crucify you.”
