Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s hit song “Luther” continues to dominate the Billboard Hot 100, leading the chart for an eighth consecutive week. The track, which pays tribute to the late R&B icon Luther Vandross by sampling his music, marks Lamar’s sixth No. 1 and SZA’s third. Both artists extend their longest runs at the top of the Hot 100 with this collaboration.
The success of “Luther” ties it with 24kGoldn’s “Mood” (featuring iann dior), which also topped the chart for eight weeks in 2020-21. This makes “Luther” the second-longest-running rap hit on the Hot 100 this decade, behind Roddy Ricch’s “The Box,” which held the top spot for 11 weeks in 2020.
In other Hot 100 news, Drake’s “Nokia” climbs from No. 3 to No. 2 following the full release of its official video on March 31. Additionally, two songs break into the top 10: BigXthaPlug’s “All the Way” (featuring Bailey Zimmerman) debuts at No. 4, and Alex Warren’s “Ordinary” jumps from No. 14 to No. 7. Both BigXthaPlug and Warren earn their first top 10 hits, with Zimmerman scoring his second. These entries make BigXthaPlug and Warren the first artists of 2025 to reach the top 10.
