Te Whanganui a Tara indie-pop artist Danica Bryant has released her latest track, “Buzz,” offering a preview of her debut album, FEAST, set for release on August 1.
The song, a lively pop-rock anthem with indie influences, captures the excitement of preparing for a night out. With its mix of acoustic guitar, a punchy chorus, and a powerful rhythm section, “Buzz” highlights Bryant’s talent for storytelling and her signature indie-pop sound.
“‘Buzz’ is about that magical feeling right before a night out when you feel unstoppable, surrounded by your favorite people, indulging in all the fun rituals—makeup, drinks, and gossip,” Bryant explains. “It’s about feeling confident in your own skin and embracing that freedom unapologetically.”
Bryant has made significant strides in the Aotearoa music scene this year, following the success of her recent single “Morals,” which received praise from outlets like TAHI FM and RollingStone AU/NZ. She’s also supported major artists such as Robbie Williams and Elton John.
Last year, her empowering track “Acid” reached #2 on the Hot Aotearoa Singles Chart. With the release of “Buzz,” she continues to build anticipation for FEAST, her upcoming album.
The track will be accompanied by a houseparty-themed music video, featuring Bryant’s friends and band, set to premiere on April 23.
Bryant’s bold new anthem, a celebration of girlhood and self-expression, is available now.
Danica Bryant’s distinct sound blends pop-folk with a gritty rock edge, tackling topics such as celebrity culture, mental health, gender dynamics, and body image. Her debut EP, CIDER, earned her a spot in APRA’s Songhubs program, and her follow-up singles, including “Heart Eyes” and “Libra,” made waves on the NZ Hot Singles Chart. With her 2022 EP EGO DEATH and the success of tracks like “Acid” and “Morals,” Bryant is poised for even greater recognition with her debut album FEAST.
