Lainey Wilson Offers Strong Advice for Her Country Music Friends

by Patria

Country music star Lainey Wilson, known for her breakout role in Yellowstone and her success at the CMAs, has made a name for herself in the industry. However, she credits her success not only to her own hard work but also to the guidance she’s received from country music legends like Dolly Parton and Miranda Lambert. During a recent appearance on RFD TV, Wilson shared how these icons shaped her journey and how she hopes to do the same for the next generation of musicians.

Wilson spoke about the invaluable wisdom she gained from Parton and Lambert, who have built long and successful careers. “They’ve had such unique and long careers, and I think it’s because of the wisdom that was passed along to them, and now they’re passing it along to me,” Wilson said. She emphasized the importance of passing that knowledge forward, offering advice for newer artists starting their careers in country music.

Speaking about two rising stars she considers friends, Megan Moroney and Ella Langley, Wilson shared some key advice for newcomers in the industry. “Do whatever you gotta do to soak it in and celebrate these times,” she urged, reminding artists to stay present and appreciate the journey. She also emphasized the need to be ready for the next big opportunity at any moment.

Wilson boiled her message down to a core piece of advice for Moroney, Langley, and other aspiring stars: “Keep your head down and work hard. But also, acknowledge that your hard work has gotten you to this point… and don’t let the voices of the world get you down.”

This isn’t the first time Wilson has praised Langley and Moroney. In March 2025, a TikTok video posted by Holler featured Wilson celebrating Langley’s eight ACM nominations. “I see a lot of myself in Ella. We really are great friends,” Wilson said, expressing pride in Langley’s accomplishments and in seeing the industry recognize another talented female artist.

Wilson has also highlighted Langley and Moroney as examples of strong female songwriters in country music. Speaking to Country Now, she acknowledged the challenges female songwriters face in the industry but expressed hope for continued growth. “There are so many talented women who can write the hell out of a song,” she said. “I hope it keeps growing. But it’s still a challenge – I’m still navigating it myself.”

Wilson’s support for Langley, Moroney, and the future of female country songwriters reflects her commitment to lifting others up while continuing her own journey in the spotlight.
