Dolly Parton and Sabrina Carpenter released a revamped version of Carpenter’s single “Please Please Please” on the deluxe edition of her album Short N’ Sweet. The collaboration blends pop and country elements, highlighting the strong, complementary energy between the two artists. Parton, known for her firm principles, requested that the duet exclude profanity. In response, Carpenter modified one lyric, ensuring the final version still captures Parton’s signature style. Parton, reinforcing her values, stated, “I don’t cuss. I don’t make fun of Jesus. I don’t talk bad about God, and I don’t say dirty words on camera.”
The music video for the duet playfully nods to the iconic film Thelma & Louise, with Carpenter and Parton portraying glamorous outlaws, one of whom has an ex-boyfriend tied up in the backseat. The video enhances the song’s narrative, showcasing the artists’ chemistry and their storytelling ability.
This duet is part of the deluxe edition of Short N’ Sweet, which also features other new tracks. It offers fans fresh takes on Carpenter’s music while highlighting a unique mix of genres and generations.
