Slaughter to Prevail Unveils New Album ‘Grizzly’

by Patria

Russian metal band Slaughter to Prevail has revealed their highly anticipated new album Grizzly, set for release on July 18 via Sumerian Records. Along with the announcement, the band has dropped their latest single, “Russian Grizzly In America,” accompanied by a visually stunning music video featuring a giant animatronic bear and UFC heavyweight Alexander Volkov.

Frontman Alex Terrible spoke about the album, stating, “I believe this is the best album we’ve ever created. We really took our time with it, putting effort into every detail and pouring our souls into the music. In the past, we rushed through albums, releasing whatever we had, but this time, we worked on each track carefully to make sure it was exactly how we wanted it.”

Slaughter to Prevail is known for pushing the limits of heavy music. Their aggressive, modern metal sound has earned them a dedicated fanbase, making them one of the most talked-about bands in the genre. With over a million monthly listeners on Spotify, the band has achieved massive streaming success, which is also evident in their live performances. They regularly pack venues on their headline tours and draw large crowds at festivals, including a record-breaking wall-of-death at last summer’s Hellfest Open Air.

The band’s journey began in an unexpected way. Alex Terrible, who developed his intense vocals in the small Russian city of Yekaterinburg, met guitarist Jack Simmons, from a quiet town in Essex, UK, online. What started as a distant collaboration soon turned into a brotherhood. Their initial ideas quickly developed into songs, and they knew they had something special. Alex’s early YouTube covers of songs by bands like Slipknot and Suicide Silence caught the attention of a global audience, including Sumerian Records. Their partnership has proven successful, with hundreds of millions of streams to date.

When not performing on stage, Alex Terrible shows his fighting spirit in the ring. Recently, he scored a brutal 37-second knockout at Russia’s RCC Bare Knuckle promotion and is now preparing for a bout in May with Top Dog Bare Knuckle. He’s also in talks for his U.S. debut with Bare Knuckle FC. Whether fighting in Russia, training in the U.S., or performing on stage, Alex thrives in the toughest environments.

Looking ahead, 2025 is shaping up to be a pivotal year for Slaughter to Prevail. They are scheduled for main stage performances at major festivals across the U.S., Canada, and Europe. The band is also set to unveil a new live show with enhanced production, designed to provide fans with an even more intense experience.

Grizzly, their most anticipated album yet, is the culmination of their hard work and success. The album includes the previously released singles “Conflict,” “Viking,” “1984,” “Behelit,” and “Kid of Darkness,” and promises to deliver a relentless blend of raw aggression and unforgettable hooks. The latest single, “Russian Grizzly In America,” is expected to become a heavy metal anthem.

Grizzly is a defining record for Slaughter to Prevail, solidifying their place at the forefront of modern heavy music.
