Finnish progressive metal band Oddland has released their new single, “Freefall,” along with its official music video, now available through Frontiers Music Srl. The band shared their thoughts on the track, describing it as a reflection of a recurring nightmare experienced during sleep paralysis. The feeling is one of endless falling with no escape, like a broken record that plays over and over. However, they hope listeners will find this “nightmare” enjoyable enough to listen to repeatedly.
The song was mixed and mastered by Grammy-nominated producers Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland from Atrium Audio, known for their work with bands like August Burns Red and Lorna Shore. The music video was filmed by the band during their European tour with Soen in October and November 2024. Additional footage was captured by cinematographer Dariusz Feluz at the tour’s final concert in Gdansk, Poland. The video’s final editing and special effects were handled by Oddland’s drummer, Ville Viitanen.
