Mexican-American duo Ha*Ash showcased their signature blend of Latin pop and country influences during the third edition of the Billboard Latin Women in Music event, which aired live on Telemundo Thursday (April 24).
Hanna and Ashley, the Louisiana-born sisters of Mexican heritage, captivated the audience with a powerful performance of hits like “Perdón, Perdón” and “Estés Donde Estés.” Each sister played her own guitar, highlighting their vocal strength and harmonies. Shortly after, they were presented with the Unbreakable Award by bachata star Prince Royce, who praised them as “two women with talent on another level.”
In her acceptance speech, Hanna reflected on their journey, saying, “This award is a celebration and a reminder that there is strength in unity, and our strength has been being sisters, partners in crime, and never letting go through thick and thin.” Ashley added, “Our career has been like a chain; each person is a link,” thanking their team, family, and fans, who she described as “the strongest link” and her “greatest source of love.”
Ha*Ash, known for their resilience, innovation, and empowerment, first gained attention in 2004. Their song “Estés Donde Estés” reached No. 9 on the Latin Pop Airplay chart, marking their first top 10 hit. Since then, they have earned 16 entries on the chart, with four landing in the top 10. Recently, they made a successful return with “El Cielo Te Mandó Para Mí,” from their album Haashville, which peaked at No. 7 on the Latin Pop Airplay chart. The sisters are currently on their Haashville Tour across the U.S. and Canada.
The Billboard Latin Women in Music special, hosted by 2024 honoree Ana Bárbara, was broadcast live on Telemundo, Universo, Peacock, and the Telemundo app, and also aired across Latin America and the Caribbean on Telemundo Internacional.
This year’s honorees include Selena Gomez, named Woman of the Year, as well as Olga Tañón (Lifetime Achievement Award), Belinda (Evolution Award), Natti Natasha (Unstoppable Artist Award), Anitta (Vanguard Award), Chiquis (Impact Award), and Celia Cruz, who is posthumously recognized with the Legend Award on the centenary of her birth, and featured in the new Billboard Español cover story.
