While many might assume that country music artists are always competing with each other, Jon Pardi says this is far from true. The California native has revealed that two of his closest friends in the industry are fellow country music stars Dierks Bentley and Luke Bryan.
“I love Dierks,” Pardi told Apple Music, as reported by American Songwriter. “I’ve toured the most with Dierks and Luke Bryan. Those guys are like brothers to me, and they’ve always been there for whatever I’m doing.”
Pardi’s friendship with Bentley dates back to 2014, when Pardi opened for Bentley on his Riser Tour. This tour marked Pardi’s first major tour.
“We started on the first Dierks tour,” Pardi recalled. “We had 20 minutes to perform, and it was just the beginning of something big. We definitely partied back then, but to this day, Dierks is always there to offer advice.”
Pardi also sought guidance from Luke Bryan, who recently celebrated his 31st No. 1 single. Pardi asked Bryan how he creates his setlist, as he continues to build his own catalog of hits.
“I remember asking Luke Bryan about setlists, and he thought it was a great question,” Pardi said. “He gave me some good advice, and we talked it through.”
Pardi Launches New Era with ‘Honkytonk Hollywood’
Pardi’s new album, Honkytonk Hollywood, marks the start of an exciting new phase in his career. It’s his fifth studio album and the first one produced by Jay Joyce.
“Every album I’ve made has had a rock-and-roll feel with a country twist, and this one keeps rocking,” Pardi said. “It’s also the most mature record I’ve made. It reflects my soul and my roots—both from Nashville and California. I hope it honors and uplifts the people of my home state more than ever.”
The album’s debut single, “Friday Night Heartbreaker,” has already reached the Top 25. Pardi is set to kick off his Honkytonk Hollywood Tour on Friday, April 25.
