Universal Music Korea, a branch of Universal Music Group, has announced the signing of hip-hop artists Okasian and Bryan Chase. This move comes as part of a rebranding effort for the company’s local Artist & Label (A&L) division.

Okasian, a seasoned artist with over ten years of experience, first gained attention as a member of the hip-hop collective The Cohort, alongside Keith Ape and Bryan Chase. His growing reputation led him to be featured on XXL’s “Top 10 Must-Know Rappers from Korea” list, alongside BTS’s RM. Known for his unique sound, Okasian has worked with The Blacklabel, which is home to Blackpink’s Rosé and Taeyang, as well as with Interscope and 88rising.

“I am truly delighted to embark on this new journey with Universal Music Korea, collaborating to create great music and authentic works together,” Okasian said.

Bryan Chase, recognized for his melodic flows, made a significant impact in 2015 with his remix of “No Flex Zone.” He has since collaborated with top artists and labels, including The Blacklabel, Interscope, and 88rising. He also worked with K-pop star Taeyang on the track “Nightfall” and U.S. rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie on “2U.”

“Joining UMG is an incredible honor. We’ve built this from the ground up with love and belief in the music. Now, with this partnership, we’re ready to share our sound with the world. This is a new beginning, and we’re expecting great things ahead,” Chase stated.

The two artists recently collaborated on the track “LOV3” for Sik-k and Lil Moshpit’s EP K-FLIP+, which was released in March.

“We are thrilled to embark on this new chapter with two exceptional artists who have earned widespread recognition in Korea’s and Asia’s hip-hop scene,” said Calvin Wong, CEO of Southeast Asia and Korea for Universal Music Group. “Their expertise and fresh perspective will inspire and elevate the current music landscape. We are fully committed to supporting their artistic journey.”

With these signings, Universal Music Korea expands its artist roster, which previously included artists like Dean and Heyoon. The company has also launched a dedicated Instagram channel for its Artist & Label division to keep fans updated on its growing list of talent.
