In honor of the late singer’s 40th birthday, Amy Winehouse’s original band will perform a special concert.
The ‘Tears Dry On Their Own’ singer’s life will be celebrated with a show in December this year featuring her original band, who were with her from the very beginning of her career.
The gig, announced this week, will take place at KOKO in Camden, London on Friday, December 22 – the week of what would have been her 40th birthday on September 14.
For the unique event, her original band, fronted by her long-time musical director and bassist Dale Davies (music consultant on the upcoming biopic “Back to Black”), are set to perform her music to celebrate her extraordinary career and life.
Fronted by the incredible vocalist Bronte Shandé and featuring on-screen visuals and unique footage, the show will tour across Europe between 2022 and 2023, including several appearances at UK festivals.
Six-time Grammy winner Amy tragically died of alcohol poisoning on July 23, 2011 at the age of 27.
Her life story will be brought to the big screen in Fifty Shades of Grey director Sam Taylor-Johnson’s film Back to Black, named after her critically acclaimed second album and hit single of the same name.
