Troye Sivan has addressed the split from Jacob Bixenman.
The “Angel Baby” singer, 28, and the 29-year-old model were in a relationship for a couple of years before they called it quits in the summer of 2020.
This week, Troye opened up about getting through the breakup while chatting with Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe about his upcoming album, Something to Give Each Other.
“It’s been a rough ride with a lot of ups and downs, for sure. And it’s been a really long ride,” he admitted to the host. “And I think also just, I don’t know, breaking up with someone, it felt like a big ball of just knotted wool or something like that. It just took a really, really, really long time to slowly but surely… and it’s still something I think about a lot.”
The Australian star said he was “grateful” to have experienced the relationship, which he will “carry with me for the rest of my life.”
“And I’m really proud of him and really proud of myself,” he continued. “And I think only in the last couple of months, honestly, have I really, really, really felt on the other side of it.”
Troye also told Zane that he has shared unreleased songs with his ex: “If something is very explicit about someone that I think people might figure out it’s about them, I’m like, ‘Hey, just so you know, this is something I wrote. I’ve never had anyone say, ‘Don’t put that out. And I don’t know what I would do in that situation.
