Keeping her inner circle small is something Ice Spice likes to do.
The 23-year-old rapper explained that she intentionally keeps her circle small in an interview with Variety.
“I like the core people to be my producer (RiotUSA) and my manager,” Ice told the publication. “Any kind of obstacles that come up, we try to get over them, because I don’t want to start over with anybody.”
Ice, real name Isis Gaston, shared she’s inspired by stars who have close, consistent relationships with their collaborators.
“And I kind of look up to people like Taylor working with Jack Antonoff and Billie Eilish working with her brother Finneas,” the Barbie World singer shared. “People like that, it’s super cool to me when there’s a team and there’s some consistency.”
Her manager, James Rosemond Jr, has been instrumental in helping her sift through offers.
Ice revealed that she spends a lot of time in hotel rooms elsewhere in the interview.
“The truth is, I’m everywhere. I’m always moving,” she said. “I’m constantly moving because people are starting to notice me a lot, and things get weird and scary really fast. But I mostly stay in hotel rooms; that’s really where I live.”
