Billie Eilish has revealed that she “never” felt like she could relate to girls.
The Happier Than Ever hitmaker opened up about her sexuality and identity in a candid interview with Variety.
The 22-year-old singer told the publication: “I’ve been both attracted to and intimidated by women. She also revealed that she has struggled to establish a relationship with women in the past.
“Billie said: “I’ve never really felt like I could relate to girls very well.
“I love them so much. I love them as people. I’m attracted to them as people. I’m attracted to them for real,” continued the singer, who has previously been accused of queer-baiting. “I’m physically attracted to them. But I’m also so intimidated by them and their beauty and their presence.”
The Bad Guy singer was most recently in a romantic relationship with The Neighborhood’s Jesse Rutherford. The duo called it quits in May this year, despite confirming their relationship in November 2022.
Elsewhere in her interview, Billie revealed that she has struggled with her identity as a woman.
“I’ve never felt like a woman, to be honest with you,” she told the publication. “I’ve never felt desirable. I’ve never felt feminine.”
“I have to convince myself that I’m a pretty girl,” the performer continued. “I identify as her and things like that, but I’ve never really felt like a girl.”
