At Princess Eugenie’s anti-slavery charity gala on Wednesday, Ed Sheeran and James Blunt performed an impromptu duet.

The British musicians performed a surprise duet on James’ 2005 hit You’re Beautiful during the fundraiser.

The Anti-Slavery Collective’s inaugural winter gala, which was attended by a number of royals and celebrities, took place at London’s Battersea Arts Center.

Just minutes before James was due to take the stage, Ed suggested an impromptu performance of the song, which appears on James’ album Back to Bedlam.

“So we’ve never practiced this, we’ve never played it,” the Bad Habits hitmaker told the crowd, via Mail Online. “James is going on the strength that I know Back to Bedlam back to front.”

The duo then performed a seamless rendition of the song.

Ahead of the gala, Princess Eugenie, who is the second child of the Duke and Duchess of York, was full of praise for Ed for agreeing to the performance.

“It’s the craziest thing. Ed is a game changer and an entertainer of a generation, so I’m absolutely speechless that he’s coming,” she gushed. “He’s also one of the nicest people, so I’m really honored and very grateful to have him there to help us with The Anti-Slavery Collective’s mission.”

Princess Eugenie has been campaigning against modern slavery since 2012. In 2017, she founded The Anti-Slavery Collective with her best friend, Julia de Boinville.
