Last night, cultural trailblazer Madonna arrived at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center after conquering the UK and Europe with her critically acclaimed, sold-out The Celebration Tour. She continues the celebration that has fans and critics raving with a sold-out performance to over 14,000 fans. Madonna took the audience on an unforgettable autobiographical journey through some of her greatest hits from the past forty years, including songs she has not performed on stage in decades, in a rare reflection that honors her unparalleled legacy and extraordinary artistry.

With iconic archival footage and poignant references to her beginnings as a struggling New York City artist, the emotional loss of her closest friends to AIDS, meteoric success, personal and professional lows and spiritual awakening. The show captures Madonna’s whirlwind past, her continuing impact on the culture, and looks to the future. As Madonna has said, “The most controversial thing I’ve ever done is to stay. Directed for the stage by longtime collaborator Jamie King with music production by Stuart Price, the songs include anthems “Like a Prayer,” “Ray of Light,” “La Isla Bonita,” “Hung Up,” “Vogue” and, for the first time on this tour, her hometown favorite “I Love New York.
