Her documentary series is “still coming,” Nicki Minaj has assured fans.
In July 2022, the Superfreaky Girl rapper released the trailer for a six-part documentary series titled Nicki, telling her followers that it is “coming soon”.
Nicki was asked on Thursday night’s Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen what happened to the project, and she explained that it was delayed due to delays with her album Pink Friday 2.
“Because my album wasn’t done when I originally wanted to put it out, I didn’t want the documentary to come out without the music, that wouldn’t have made sense to me,” she shared. “So the network had to go with something else, and I couldn’t force a documentary out either.
“Now we have two people who are really interested, and I think it’s going to be a nicer or easier experience to bridge the documentary with the music now. I will tell you more about it soon, but the documentary is definitely still coming.
The 41-year-old rapper insisted that because her fans have had time to digest Pink Friday 2, which was released last week, they will experience “a different level of emotional rollercoaster” when they watch the documentary.
The documentary is complete, but the rapper wants to include new footage to “reflect the aftermath of Pink Friday 2.
While she did not reveal a release date, Nicki told host Andy that she would like it to be out before the start of her world tour in March.
