Las Vegas, NV – Pop icon Christina Aguilera has regrettably postponed two of her upcoming Las Vegas shows, just a week into her latest residency, after falling ill with the flu.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, the 43-year-old singer shared the news with her fans, stating, “After welcoming all of you to the new year from the stage in Las Vegas, I’ve been welcomed with a new year flu.” Aguilera expressed her apologies and reassured fans that the postponed shows, originally scheduled for January 5 and 6, will be rescheduled as she takes the necessary time to recover. “I cannot wait to be back on that stage in a few weeks. I’m incredibly proud of this show and grateful for all of the support and love after opening weekend! See you soon.”
As of now, the new dates for the rescheduled concerts have not been announced.
Christina Aguilera inaugurated her 10-date residency at The Venetian Resort’s Voltaire venue on December 30 and 31, with the run slated to continue until March 2. The next scheduled performance is set for Friday, February 2.
This isn’t Aguilera’s first venture into Las Vegas; her previous residency, “Christina Aguilera: The Xperience,” took place at Planet Hollywood in 2019 and 2020. Despite the temporary setback, fans eagerly anticipate her return to the stage.
