Corey Taylor Cancels Solo Tour Due to Mental Health Struggles

Slipknot’s frontman, Corey Taylor, has openly shared on Instagram that he had to cancel his solo tour due to a “complete and utter breakdown” affecting his mental health. Concerns arose among fans after the abrupt cancellation of his U.S. tour, set to commence a month later than planned.

Addressing his followers in a video, the 50-year-old musician explained his decision and responded to the reactions regarding his commitment to a four-date Asia tour, spanning late March to early April, with three shows in Japan and one in the Philippines.

“I, over the last year, have had a complete and utter breakdown of boundaries, mental health, ego, entitlement, the whole nine yards, culminating in a very, very real, very near relapse that… I kind of don’t recognize myself,” Taylor shared candidly. “So, again, I wanted to address this and just tell people that I needed time to reset, I needed time to start working on my heart and my mind and get straight.”

Acknowledging the significance of the Southeast Asia run, he emphasized, “I’m gonna see how I do with that and just take it day by day, basically.”

Taylor assured his audience that he is actively seeking the necessary help, expressing gratitude for their concern. The U.S. tour, initially scheduled from February 3 in Toronto to March 3 in Omaha, Nebraska, was officially called off on January 5, with Taylor citing struggles with both mental and physical health.
