Grammy-winning rapper Megan Thee Stallion is gearing up for an exciting summer as she embarks on her first solo tour, following the recent release of her diss track, “Hiss.”
Fresh off the success of her latest musical endeavor, the 28-year-old artist revealed the upcoming Hot Girl Summer tour during an appearance on Good Morning America. While still diligently working on her yet-to-be-titled studio album, Megan expressed her eagerness to take the stage during the Northern summer.
“Oh, we’re having the tour this year,” Megan enthusiastically shared. “The Hot Girl Summer tour is going to be 2024, summertime.”
Having dedicated previous summers to studio work, Megan is determined to finish her next album in time for the tour kick-off. “I feel like I’ve never been able to be outside doing my own thing during the summer, since like 2019,” she explained. “So this is going to be the first time that I drop an album on time for the summer. I do want to give the hotties the Megan Thee Stallion experience.”
In addition to her musical journey, Megan opened up about the challenges she faced during the 2022 trial related to the shooting incident involving rapper Tory Lanez. Recounting the incident where she was shot in the foot during a disagreement at a pool party, Megan described the aftermath as brutal, with the backlash from Tory Lanez’s fans nearly deterring her return to music.
“It was really rough because for the past couple years, music just seemed so negative to me,” Megan shared. “I just wasn’t in a good space mentally after everything that had happened to me, and it just all felt like, ‘I’m tired of this. I’m tired of fighting.’ But I had to tell myself, you know what, I don’t want to give up.”
