Country artist Lainey Wilson has extended her admiration towards Beyoncé for her bold venture into the realm of country music, following the announcement of Beyoncé’s upcoming country album during a commercial aired at the Super Bowl LVIII halftime show.

Expressing her support for Beyoncé’s crossover, Lainey shared her enthusiasm with Extra on Sunday, stating, “I love it… The more the merrier. I’m like, again, it’s about that storytelling.” The 31-year-old artist emphasized the importance of storytelling in music, highlighting its ability to create a sense of belonging for listeners.

Reflecting on the response from certain country music radio stations that have chosen not to play Beyoncé’s recently released country singles, “16 Carriages” and “Texas Hold ‘Em,” which are set to feature on her upcoming album, Lainey remained unfazed. “Hey, you know what? Everybody is going to have something to say about everything. I bet you wouldn’t say it to her face,” she remarked, reaffirming her admiration for Beyoncé.

The surprise release of the two new country tracks on February 11th by the “Crazy in Love” sensation left fans delighted. Beyoncé has further confirmed that her forthcoming country album, constituting the second part of her 2022 Renaissance album, is scheduled for release on March 29th.
