Kanye West has asserted that he is facing legal action from Adidas and accused them of distributing unauthorized versions of his footwear line.
The rapper, who previously had a sponsorship deal with Adidas, saw their collaboration come to an end in 2022 following his Twitter posts containing anti-Semitic remarks.
In a video shared on Instagram, West claimed that Adidas is both suing him and releasing unauthorized color variations of the YZY footwear line they had previously collaborated on.
In his Instagram video statement, West clarified the situation, stating, “Let me explain really clearly to you guys what’s happening with Adidas. Not only are they putting out fake colour ways that are not approved, they’re suing me for $250 million (£15.76 million). They’re also not paying me for these shoes that they’re putting out that have my name on it. They’re using contract clauses and 50 years of business experience to exploit an artist, one of y’all favorite artists, right in front of y’all in broad daylight.”
Furthermore, West shared a screenshot on Instagram displaying the shoes he alleges are unauthorized, which are featured on the Adidas website.
