Actress Kate Hudson recently revealed that she had to confront a “great fear” before releasing her first piece of music.
On January 30, the Almost Famous star debuted her inaugural song, “Talk About Love,” with plans for more releases later in 2024.
Speaking to E! News, the 44-year-old actress shared her apprehensions about stepping into the music scene. “For me, with music and songwriting, it was time,” Kate expressed. “It was a great fear of mine to be rejected for my writing. You know, why put myself out there so vulnerably?”
Collaborating with her fiancé Danny Fujikawa and esteemed songwriter Linda Perry, Kate co-wrote the track, reaching a pivotal moment in her life where she felt prepared to embrace a new professional challenge.
“Over time, you realize, and as you get older, that’s the very thing holding you back,” she explained. “And taking risk is part of what has been a thrill for me, which is why I want to be an artist and why I’ve always put myself out there.”
Kate also emphasized the importance of pursuing endeavors out of genuine passion rather than seeking external validation. “Do it because you love it, not because you’re expecting some sort of validation – I just got to that point,” she said.
Her advice to younger individuals echoes this sentiment, urging them to identify what truly motivates them. “What moves you? What is the actual purpose of all this?” Kate questioned. “If it’s seeking the outside, then you’re going to get hurt. But if it’s a drive, if it’s a calling, keep going.”
Kate Hudson’s journey into music reflects a profound personal evolution, marked by courage and authenticity as she ventures into new creative territory.
