Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds Announce New Album, ‘Wild God’, Due August 30th

by Patria

Iconic Australian band Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds are making a grand return with their 18th studio album titled ‘Wild God’, slated for release on August 30th. Offering fans a tantalizing preview, the band has already dropped the title track ‘Wild God’, available now for streaming.

Reflecting on the album, Nick Cave shared his hopes for its impact, stating, “I hope the album has the effect on listeners that it’s had on me. It bursts out of the speaker, and I get swept up with it. It’s a complicated record, but it’s also deeply and joyously infectious. There is never a masterplan when we make a record. The records rather reflect back the emotional state of the writers and musicians who played them. Listening to this, I don’t know, it seems we’re happy.”

It embodies a sense of rejuvenation and exploration, with nods to the Bad Seeds’ storied past while maintaining a forward-thinking trajectory.

Recording sessions took place at Miraval in Provence and Soundtree in London, with contributions from Colin Greenwood on bass and Luis Almau on nylon string guitar and acoustic guitar.
