Tyla, the South African singer-songwriter, has made the difficult decision to postpone her inaugural headlining tour due to a debilitating injury. Taking to Instagram on Thursday, she conveyed her gratitude to fans for their unwavering support and shared the disappointment of having to delay her long-awaited tour.
In her heartfelt message, Tyla expressed her lifelong dream coming to fruition and the profound impact her fans have had on her journey. However, she revealed that she has been silently battling an injury over the past year, which has unfortunately worsened despite seeking medical intervention.
“While I would have preferred to handle this matter privately, it’s crucial that I share this with you today,” Tyla disclosed. “For the past year, I’ve been grappling with an injury that has escalated in severity despite consultations with specialists. The pain has become increasingly unbearable.”
The Grammy-winning artist acknowledged her devastation in having to postpone the tour but emphasized the importance of prioritizing her long-term health and safety. She expressed hope for a return to the stage during the summer months.
The tour, intended to promote her forthcoming self-titled debut album, was slated to commence in Oslo, Norway, on March 21 and conclude in Minneapolis on May 28.
