South Korean girl group NewJeans, composed of Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein, are gearing up for a highly anticipated comeback, eagerly preparing and practicing new music. Although they remain tight-lipped about specifics, they express their enthusiasm to share their latest creations with fans.
During their appearance on the red carpet at Billboard’s Women in Music event in Los Angeles this week, where they were honored as Group of the Year, Danielle hinted at their upcoming endeavors: “Well, I mean we can’t spoil too much. I’m just gonna say that we’re preparing and practicing hard.”
Since their formation in 2022, NewJeans has garnered attention with two EP releases, including their self-titled debut in 2022 and ‘Get Up’ in 2023. While they have graced stages at notable music festivals and awards shows like Lollapalooza and Summer Sonic Festival, the group has yet to embark on a headline tour.
In 2023, the quintet made waves with their contribution to the ‘League of Legends’ World Championship soundtrack, featuring the track ‘Gods’. Exploring a new genre, the song, penned by Riot Games’ principal composer Sebastien Najand and Mako’s Alex Seaver, allowed NewJeans to infuse their unique style with the game’s essence.
Reflecting on the collaboration, the band expressed their delight: “It was fun to try a new genre and sound. Through this collaboration, we are happy to present a song that incorporates both NewJeans’ and League of Legends’ unique colors. We hope it brings you a new sense of empowerment!”
Joining the ranks of esteemed artists like Lil Nas X, Imagine Dragons, and Against The Current, NewJeans continues to make waves in both the music industry and gaming community with their dynamic sound and creative collaborations.
