Legendary rock band Deep Purple has unveiled their upcoming album, ‘1,’ set to release on July 19. The lead single is expected to drop on April 30, building anticipation for their 22nd studio record.
Known for iconic hits like ‘Hush,’ ‘Black Night,’ ‘Speed King,’ ‘Fireball,’ and ‘Smoke On The Water,’ Deep Purple’s latest venture follows their 2021 album ‘Turning to Crime,’ a compilation of covers and the final record featuring guitarist Steve Morse before his departure in July 2022. Simon McBride steps into his role on the new album.
Their previous studio effort, ‘Whoosh!,’ soared to number four on the Official UK Albums Chart and claimed the top spot in various countries upon its 2020 release.
Described as a return to their 1970s essence, ‘1’ is crafted under the guidance of studio maestro Bob Ezrin, promising a fusion of classic sound with a modern twist. The album’s enigmatic title reflects a theme of simplification amid a complex world, symbolizing unity in diversity.
To tease the album’s concept, the band has teased mysterious equations and multiverse depictions in London, Paris, and Berlin, hinting at more revelations to come.
Deep Purple isn’t just releasing new music; they’re also embarking on the ‘= 1 MORE TIME TOUR’ across major UK cities, including Birmingham, London, Leeds, Manchester, and Glasgow, with support from indie rockers Reef. Fans can expect an electrifying experience as the rock legends continue to captivate audiences worldwide.
